Editorial Policy

Last updated: September 18, 2026

The PC Geek publishes reviews, comparisons, and guides for people building or upgrading a PC. This page explains how we source information, how we stay independent from manufacturers and retailers, and what happens when we get something wrong.

Editorial Independence

Our recommendations are based on our own research, spec comparisons, and analysis — not on payments from manufacturers or retailers. We do not accept money, free products, or other incentives in exchange for a positive review or a “best of” placement. Whether a product has an affiliate program has no bearing on whether or how we cover it.

Sourcing Standards

We source specs, pricing, and performance data from manufacturer documentation, retailer listings, and reputable third-party benchmarks and review outlets. When we reference data or claims from another source, we credit and link to it. Every article displays a “last updated” date so you know how current the information is.

How We Evaluate Products

Our evaluation process is described in detail on our How We Test page. In short: we compare specs against the use case a product is marketed for, check pricing against historical trends, and weigh real-world trade-offs (thermals, noise, compatibility, value for money) rather than just headline numbers.

Affiliate Relationships

The PC Geek is reader-supported. Some links on this site are Amazon affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. This never influences our recommendations. Full details in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Corrections Policy

If we publish something that’s factually wrong, we correct it as soon as we’re aware. Where an error affects a product’s ranking or recommendation, we update the article and note what changed. To report an error, contact us with the URL and a description of the issue.
